Bargello center progress

So i've fiddled around with the fabric choices from before (purchased online so things tend to be a bit differenc once they arrive)and pulled some and inserted some and moved some into a different order and i have come up with these! ignore the socks and the charging cellphone please
the fabric all the awy to the left and the one all the way to the right are the same fabric an dthis is what they will "touch" in the wrap for the bargello strips.

instead of the original (smaller pic) on the right which i think looks like that because the flash might not have gone off?
and below, just for someone one who shall not be pointed out (?) there is a monochrome pic for value.  I really want to work in a rainbow color order and i tried to break up the layout some with some light lights and a couple of dark darks! so here is the monochrome/value pic for you Q.  oops! snickering

and here is the link to a bargello "look" I like and think I will adapt the pattern in the magazine to have these breaker bits in it as seen here

Great news!

so I can officially announce that I'm going to be a grandmother again! My oldest son and his wife are pregnant!

This will be my 2nd and 3rd :)

yuppers twins! so the lovely bargello center fabric in the post below is for their special quilts.

I plan to make each center the same but the borders will be different. One using a portion of this pattern found here

http://www.robertkaufman.com/quilting/quilts_patterns/nature_collection_leaves/

and the other using these fish for the border found here

mom is into dots and ladybugs and dad loves to fish (like his mom!)

so that is my very happy news for these days.

enjoy the thought process of what I'll be making from these fabrics and patterns.

It was a perfect day for taking out the boat no wind forecasted no rain and plenty of sunshine!

i caught 9 fish and one blue crab! and neal got a large stingray and a small blue crab.

the list:

3 small snook as in just barely can see a "line" on these linesiders
2 sea trout keeper sized but we let them go
1 large catfish
1 lady fish

weaving the next step (s)

no pics today i have some somewhere but where is the question. probably still in the camera. sigh... i'm such a horrible digital photographer. come to think of it i'd often times have a year or two of film rolls to be developed too. no hope for me i guess.

i finished the first scarf and fell in love!

i warped immediately for a second scarf with similar warp yarns (read as: all I had left of the original colors and made up for with some pink koolaid dyed sock yarn)

that scarf was finished on monday night and tuesday night, with the aid of my friend Liz I got the color gamp onto the loom. this weave will me more wide (all 31" of Mathilda's width)than both of the scarves added together! ambitious of me, eh?

anyway, it looks lovely on the loom and now i'm sad that i did not plan for a twill weave afterall. i have two heddles and i suppose i could have adjusted it in some form.

so now i need to do some research and probably post a question or two on ravely and see if i have any options with the 156 slots 156 holes single thread in a hole on only one heddle that does not require redoing the warp! that was not a fun project and it helps me to remember that a floor loom would have many more holes, slots and harnesses to deal with than Mathilda does.

so that's all for now. i guess if i had remembered to leave the sewing room door cracked open last night i could be in there sleying so more of the threads. it is a 3/2 pearle cotton and my first non-sock yarn warp. well that first one was Aunt Lydia's crochet cotton 10 but you aren't going to make me count THAT one are you?

wink

have a GRAND Good Friday
