Day 5

Today is Tuesday, June 21st.

It is the summer solstice, which happens in a nano second or something like that as my husband says.  Which led me to reply, well great if I blink I won't have missed it!  Which of course, only makes sense to me because if I were to blink of course THAT nano second could indeed have happened during my blink.

It is day 5 of my current stint of unemployment.

It is not a "chat" day with my online quilting buds of over 10 years which is sad.

It is the day youngest son flies off for his first ever fly-a-way interview in Maryland.

It is the day I should be cleaning the sewing room so I can actually sew in there.  Hard to get motivated to do.  It is a sad reminder that I cleaned that whole room up back in January and then sewed in there on three 6 1/2" blocks?  something has to give and I guess it is me.

I need to GIVE that room a good cleaning!

I need to GIVEaway or sell a bunch of stuff!

I need to GIVE my excel spreadsheet a look at everyday and DO something on that list everyday.

So what is today to you?  Whatever it is to you, make it the absolutely best-est you possibly can for you and yours and those around you.

Blessings,
denise/deBRAT in too dang hot FL How hot is it?  It is so hot that I wake up to the A/C being on and it is set at 77 degrees, at 5 or 6 in the morning.  THAT is how hot it is.

All's quiet on the southern front

Wednesday was a horrible day ... lost my job.

Thursday was a horrible day .... cell phone went for 5 minutes bath in the pool.

Friday was a waiting day ... waiting for what would happen next, waiting for the cell phone to dry out, waiting to decide on what to do about a new phone.

Saturday was chore day ... clean the pool, without a cell phone on my bathing suit bottom and other inside chores.

Sunday was Father's Day ..  a day to celebrate!

Monday is ... today let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalm

A while back I put the Psalm of the day link on my blog.  Today's Psalm is :

"Psalm for the Day"
I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

Did you know?  Every time you go to my blog a new Psalm of the Day shows up?  Even when it is several times in a day.  Pretty neat, eh?

Today I made my list of tasks.  Chores.  Projects.  Whatever they are called they are numerous and I need to work at several of them every day or at least several days a week so they will be completed.  Here is a sampling of a project, chore, task on the list.

Weeding the lawn
Wii Fit Plus -stepping!
VHS to dvd- Caelum's growing up tapes

you get the picture I'm sure and perhaps you feel the pain.  Let me challenge you to make a list of tasks, projects, chores call them what you may of your very own and all you have to do is put a check mark next to that row item in today's column.

Have questions?  Ask away I'm the queen of answering questions.  How many persons let go from their job answer emails from the old employer, and promptly?  Guess just proves how much of an oddball I am and another reason why I did not "fit" there.

now i'm off to turn on the Wii and do some steppin' class.  then it will be weeding the lawn with a cool down in the pool withOUT my cell phone on my bathing suit bottom while I read a book.

Have a grand and glorious day!  No matter what occurs today it is YOUR day and you shall be glad in it.  Not quiet the verse at all but you get the idea.

John 19:30

John 19:30 "When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit."

Those three words came to mind when yesterday became my last day at the wonderful job I began working at in January.  I learned so much while I was there.  I do not know what will come my way next but this other verse also comes to mind.  Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart
   and lean not on your own understanding;

The above verse also came to mind "TRUST in the Lord with ALL of your heart"  and then when it came up I read on and aha! to the  "and lean NOT on your OWN understanding"

I am a puzzler in life.  I love crosswords, I love numbers and making them work and tell results, I love that which requires you to think and contemplate, ponder and work at .  I think I know what happened, but yet I'm not sure.  I know that what i perceive as Christian behavior was not always exhibited.  I trust that the Lord is protecting me from something and has sheltered me from pain.

and then the very next verse is -
"6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight"

I trust that the Lord knows his plans for me, that if I submit to him he will make my path straight.  I do pray that means a paycheck as my family sure needs it right now.

I did commission work for several years and I would like to be able to do that again.  I'm not sure if that is all I'm to do, but while the job search begins in earnest yet again I will be keeping my ear to the ground for anyone who may need a quilt for a gift.  And the scrappier the better as i will be able to "sell" off some of my stash as pieces being used in a commission piece.

So today, this first day of a "new beginning" as my son so aptly put it last evening as we went out to dinner on an already planned to eat out night, as he toasted,  (We always raise whatever we are drinking in a toast when we get to eat out together as a family, and sometimes at home too.) I pray that today you go forth and start your new beginning keeping in mind these passages from HIS word.  HIS instructions to us.

OH! can't forget the picture!  something awesome in coloring I think today
Well maybe not so colorful as more of  how I often feel.  All by myself soaring free and wondering where everyone else went and yet - enjoying the awesomeness that is all around me because I'm all alone with no distraction.
