John 19:30

John 19:30 "When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit."

Those three words came to mind when yesterday became my last day at the wonderful job I began working at in January.  I learned so much while I was there.  I do not know what will come my way next but this other verse also comes to mind.  Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart
   and lean not on your own understanding;

The above verse also came to mind "TRUST in the Lord with ALL of your heart"  and then when it came up I read on and aha! to the  "and lean NOT on your OWN understanding"

I am a puzzler in life.  I love crosswords, I love numbers and making them work and tell results, I love that which requires you to think and contemplate, ponder and work at .  I think I know what happened, but yet I'm not sure.  I know that what i perceive as Christian behavior was not always exhibited.  I trust that the Lord is protecting me from something and has sheltered me from pain.

and then the very next verse is -
"6 in all your ways submit to him,
   and he will make your paths straight"

I trust that the Lord knows his plans for me, that if I submit to him he will make my path straight.  I do pray that means a paycheck as my family sure needs it right now.

I did commission work for several years and I would like to be able to do that again.  I'm not sure if that is all I'm to do, but while the job search begins in earnest yet again I will be keeping my ear to the ground for anyone who may need a quilt for a gift.  And the scrappier the better as i will be able to "sell" off some of my stash as pieces being used in a commission piece.

So today, this first day of a "new beginning" as my son so aptly put it last evening as we went out to dinner on an already planned to eat out night, as he toasted,  (We always raise whatever we are drinking in a toast when we get to eat out together as a family, and sometimes at home too.) I pray that today you go forth and start your new beginning keeping in mind these passages from HIS word.  HIS instructions to us.

OH! can't forget the picture!  something awesome in coloring I think today
Well maybe not so colorful as more of  how I often feel.  All by myself soaring free and wondering where everyone else went and yet - enjoying the awesomeness that is all around me because I'm all alone with no distraction.
